On 23-24 April 2024, the Empowering Communities through Participatory Climate Actions (WeAct) implemented by CARE International in Lao PDR organized training on the establishment of Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) for government partners, SEADA and RDA. This aim is to help the participants have an understanding of the VSLA tool, build capacity, and increase skills in project activities implementation.
After completing the training, the team started to implement the VSLA activity in the target area, which was able to establish the VSLA group in 13 villages, with a total of 283 members and a deposit of 41,140,000 kip. This is considered a good starting point for the project that will help strengthen women’s economic empowerment in the future.
